Fence Calculator for a Privacy Fence
Estimate posts, panels, rails and concrete for a privacy fence.
A 6 ft privacy fence blocks sight lines and reduces yard noise. Wood shadowbox and vinyl panel are the two most common privacy styles. Space 4×4 posts 8 ft apart (6 ft for very windy sites) and set them in concrete below the frost line.

How does the fence calculator work?
Posts = fence length ÷ spacing + 1 (for the end post). Panels = length ÷ spacing. Rails = panels × rails-per-section (2 for short fences, 3 for tall or heavy panels). Plan on ~2 bags of 60 lb concrete per post.
