To calculate wallpaper, multiply the perimeter of the room by the wall height to get the total wall area, subtract doors and windows, and then divide by the usable coverage of one roll—about 25–30 sq ft for a double roll after pattern matching. Add an extra roll for pattern repeats over 12 inches. Enter your room size for an exact roll count.

How does the wallpaper calculator work?
A standard American double roll covers about 56 ft² but only ~35 usable ft² after trimming and pattern-matching. This calculator uses the strip method: compute the perimeter, divide by roll width to get strips needed, then divide by strips-per-roll based on your wall height plus pattern repeat.

How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
For a 12×10 ft room with 8 ft ceilings and no pattern repeat, plan on 5–6 single rolls (3 double rolls). Add one more for a large repeat.
What is pattern repeat?
The vertical distance before the pattern restarts. A larger repeat means more waste per strip, so you need more rolls.
