Metal Roofing Calculator
Estimate metal roofing panels, screws and ridge cap.
How does the metal roofing calculator work?
Panel coverage = panel width (ft) × panel length. Divide sloped roof area by panel coverage and add ~10% for cuts. Plan ~0.8 fasteners per ft² and one 10-ft ridge cap piece per 10 ft of ridge.
Which guide explains this in more depth?
- Panel roofs waste differently from shingles: ribs, hips and valleys all change the number you order. Read the metal roofing calculator waste factor guide for the full worked example.
