How does the vinyl plank flooring calculator work?

Room area = length × width. Add 10% waste for cuts and pattern staggering, then divide by box coverage (typically 20–30 ft² per box for LVP).

10% for rectangular rooms; 15% if you have many closets, angles, or a diagonal layout.

At 24 ft² per box and 10% waste: 220 ft² ÷ 24 = 10 boxes.
