Fence Calculator for a Pool Fence
Estimate materials for a code-compliant pool fence.
Pool fences are life-safety features, not privacy fences — code requires a minimum 4 ft height, self-closing/self-latching gates, and no gaps larger than 4 in between vertical members (so a child can't climb through). Aluminum and vinyl are the two most-common pool fence materials.

How does the fence calculator work?
Posts = fence length ÷ spacing + 1 (for the end post). Panels = length ÷ spacing. Rails = panels × rails-per-section (2 for short fences, 3 for tall or heavy panels). Plan on ~2 bags of 60 lb concrete per post.
