A fence estimate needs total run length, post spacing and panel style. Posts equal run ÷ spacing (usually 6–8 ft) plus one, with an extra post at every corner and gate. Each 6 ft panel section needs 2–3 rails and 16–17 pickets at standard spacing. Enter your run length to get posts, rails, pickets and concrete.
How does the fence calculator work?
Posts = fence length ÷ spacing + 1 (for the end post). Panels = length ÷ spacing. Rails = panels × rails-per-section (2 for short fences, 3 for tall or heavy panels). Plan on ~2 bags of 60 lb concrete per post.
