How does the tile calculator work?
Divide the total floor area by the coverage of a single tile (tile width × height ÷ 144 for inches to ft²). Add a 10% waste factor for cuts, and divide by tiles-per-box to get boxes.

How high should shower wall tile go?
Either 72 in (over the showerhead) or all the way to the ceiling. Full-height tile looks more modern and eliminates a caulk joint that would eventually mildew.
How much tile for a standard 60 in shower?
A 60×32 in tub-shower tiled to 72 in high is about 65 sq ft of wall tile. With 15% waste and 12×12 in tiles, plan on ~75 tiles or 8 boxes.
How much extra tile should I order?
