How does the paint calculator work?
Wall area is the room perimeter × ceiling height. Subtract roughly 21 ft² per door and 15 ft² per average window, then multiply by the number of coats and divide by 350 ft²/gallon.
Formula: gallons = ((2(L+W) × H − doors×21 − windows×15) × coats) ÷ 350

How much paint for a kitchen cabinet repaint?
For a standard 10×10 kitchen (~20 linear feet of cabinets), plan on 1 quart of bonding primer and 2 quarts of cabinet enamel. Larger kitchens or full replacements can go up to a gallon of each.
Do I need special paint for cabinets?
